In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb

For as much fun as this morning was, the rest of the day was pretty uneventful.  I’m sitting in bed now, watching football and trying to decide if I can fall asleep or not.

Did I Mention the Transfusion Went Well?
I was pre-medicated with benadryl and closely monitored for my packed red blood cells this afternoon.  Everything went well and I didn’t have any issues.  Kinda weird to see the blood going in rather than out, but overall it was an easy process.
A Duck Dynasty Prayer
Father God, thank you for continued protection against side effects.  Thank you for quick and professional care this morning.  Thank you for the chance to see my Tuckeroo.  I hope I’m doing a good job serving you through this.  I pray that my treatment continues to be on track and that I can walk out of here in remission.  Thank you for another day.  Amen.

On Second Thought

Ohhhhhhhhh, Didn’t Think About That

I posed a question in my last update, and it occurs to me that I may have been in a minority among some of my friends.  “Have you ever blacked out and woken up to a room full of people?”  Now that I think about it, it’s quite possible I know a lot of people who have blacked out and woken up in a room full of people.  I can’t even narrow the field by saying “room full of strangers.”  I can count on one finger how many times I’ve been drunk in my life, but I’ve heard a lot of stories from others.  Now that I think about it, a lot of them end with blacking out. I’m thankful for my upbringing and lack of social skills equalling a lack of a party life.  Guess next time someone tells a story about when they passed out I can bring up the night I scored some Oxycontin, took the biggest dose I’ve ever had in my life and woke up in the hospital.  Hopefully no one asks for too many details.
